Subject: I factory defaulted the Conduit in the IoT Starter Kit for LoRa and lost the Bluemix flow and other configuration settings
Description:
PRODUCTS: All MTCDT models with AEP firmware shipped as a Starter Kit SKU.

PROBLEM: A factory reset of the Conduit in the IoT Starter Kit for LoRa wipes out the factory configuration and the factory-installed Node-RED flow.

SOLUTION: Currently it is the recommendation of the Support group and FAEs that the Conduits in the IoT Starter Kit for LoRa NOT be factory defaulted. However, that doesn't help you if you have already done that before seeing this note. In that case, then review the instructions below.

1) You will need to restore access to the Conduit via Ethernet interface. The default IP is 192.168.2.1, but as of AEP 1.4.3 and older firmware there is a Call Home feature for DeviceHQ connectivity that has DHCP enabled and the Conduit will switch between the static 192.168.2.1 and DHCP. If you have a DHCP server on the network with the Conduit, then the Conduit will acquire an IP (you will need to use the debug port of the Conduit, log in, and issue 'ifconfig' to find out its IP). If you don't have a DHCP server, then with a direct-attached computer use the same subnet as the Conduit's default IP (192.168.2.1) to attempt to access the web GUI. Since it switches between static and DHCP it may take several seconds before it responds to the static IP. Once you have access to the web GUI,
then configure the Conduit for static IP 192.168.2.1 and finish the First Time Setup wizard, save, and reboot.

2) To recover the Bluemix Node-RED flow for the Conduit AEP:
a. Download the file https://webfiles.multitech.com/mmm/starterKIT_bluemixFLOW.txt
b. Open the starterKIT_bluemixFLOW.txt file and copy the contents.
c. Log into the Conduit AEP web GUI and select "Apps" -> "Launch Node Red".
d. When the Node-RED screen comes up login using your login credentials (default username: admin, password: admin).
e. In the Node-RED app, select the "hamburger" menu at the top right of the screen and select "import" and "clipboard" and paste the copied flow into the clipboard and select "Ok".
f. Now select "Deploy" on the top right side of the screen.
g. At this point you should be able to see the imported flow on the Node-RED canvas and have successfully recovered the Bluemix Flow.

-OR-

Another option for recovering the Node-RED flow is to copy the contents of the file at https://webfiles.multitech.com/mmm/starterKIT_bluemixFLOW.txt into "/var/config/app/install/development/flows.json". Once that is done, then reboot the Conduit.

3) There are LoRa configuration changes that also need to be made to finish the process. Note that the LoRa name/passphrase has a form like "MTCDT-12345678". The following information is true as of mid-July 2018.

Finish the Conduit (MTCDT) Configuration:
1. LoRa=Enabled
2. LoRa Channel Plan=(depends on region)
2a. If Channel Plan=AS923 for Japan (and LoRa card supports LBT), then set Listen Before Talk (LBT)=Enabled
3. LoRa Network=Public LoRaWAN
4. LoRa Join Delay=5
5. LoRa Name=MTCDT-<Conduit Serial Number>
6. LoRa Passphrase=MTCDT-<Conduit Serial Number>
7. LoRa Frequency Subband=1
8. Save and Restart

The MTDOT-BOX (with firmware 3.1.x or newer) also gets programmed with the following AT commands (NOTE: The 3.1 firmware defaults to public mode.):
1. AT+NI=1,MTCDT-<Conduit Serial Number>
2. AT+NK=1,MTCDT-<Conduit Serial Number>
3. AT+FSB=1
4. If configuring an MTDOT-BOX with firmware older than 3.1, then also set AT+PN=1
5. AT&W

The MTDOT and MTXDOT are not pre-programmed. To program those, the end-user would use the following AT commands (assuming firmware 3.0.x or OLDER which defaults to private mode):
1. AT+PN=1
2. AT+NI=1,MTCDT-<Conduit Serial Number>
3. AT+NK=1,MTCDT-<Conduit Serial Number>
4. AT+FSB=1
5. AT&W
